HIGHLIGHTS:
• Grades: 9–12 (not AP level)
• Format: Self‑paced, online course + 16 physical Physics Crates (8 units; 2–3 crates per unit)
• Launch: Official release September 1, 2026; currently beta‑tested through May 2026 by teens ages 14–16.
Physical STEM kits for all pre-orders will ship upon launch no later than September 1, 2026.
• Real Physics in Action: Explore important physics concepts through hands-on experimentation.
• Meets Educational Standards: Aligned with (but not limited to) NGSS science education standards.
• Math Skills Required: Algebra, Geometry
WHAT YOU GET IN THE COURSE:
• 16 Crates: Hands‑on STEM kits that are endlessly repeatable, store neatly in the shipping box, and work for solo learning or small groups.
• Online Course: The most entertaining “textbook” you’ll ever read: gifs, comics, pop‑culture references, movie clips, short video walk‑throughs, games, etc.
Seriously, you'll want to read this for fun.
• Short, Focused Homework: Practice that actually helps; video solutions for every math step so parents don’t need to be physics experts.
• Color-Coded Learning: Equations in red, activities/homework in yellow, optional but interesting in green, deep‑dive nerd content in purple.
HOW IT TEACHES PHYSICS DIFFERENTLY:
• Project-First Learning: Concepts are introduced through activities/demonstrations and then connected to the math, not the other way around.
• Bridges Abstract Concepts And The Physical World: We use videos, movie clips, and hands‑on challenges to show what physics looks like in action.
• Designed To Make Learning Stick: Curriculum written around two questions: “What should students remember?” and “How can I make it memorable?”

Beta Test Results That Matter
Our teenaged beta group returned from a 40‑day break for the holidays and still remembered the concepts they’d learned they went on break.

• Short, Effective Practice: Just enough practice with clear video explanations so you can assess your own mastery.
CRATES FEATURES PARENTS LOVE:
• Crates Include Mini-Lessons for All Ages: Though this is a high-school level course, each kit includes access to its paired teaching material, adapted to every academic level from Kindergarten - high school, so younger siblings can benefit too.
• Solo or Group Activity: Designed to work for solo learners just as well as for small groups (2–6-ish people).
• Compact Storage: Made to store efficiently, and often ships in the same box it's intended to be stored in. No loose pieces, no big, awkward-shaped monstrosities taking tons of space on a shelf.
• Endlessly Repeatable: Built to be used again and again for experiments and challenges. No more "it's only good until the provided materials are gone" nonsense.

WHO IS THIS FOR?
• High school students who want physics that feels fun and emphasizes tactile learning.
• Fun parents who like to learn and build along-side their kids.
• Homeschooling parents who want a plug-and-play curriculum that’s easy to supervise without having to first become a physics expert yourself.
• Micro-schools and co-ops seeking education-standards‑aligned, project‑based physics.
SHORT FAQ:
Is this an AP Physics course?
No. This is an Algebra-based, basic high school physics course.
Do parents need physics knowledge to help kids with this course?
No. My job is to know and teach the physics. Parents' job is to make sure their kids follow the course materials. (Sorry, your job is still pretty hard, but this course should make your job easier.) This curriculum is written to be about as plug-and-play as you can get, which is perfect for parents who might be a little scared of math-heavy sciences.
How long is the course?
Physics For Makers is designed as a year‑long, self‑paced (asynchronous) course with 8 units and 16 Crates.
Our beta-testers meet one day per week, and have been comfortably keeping a pace of 1 unit per month. But you can go through the course at whatever pace you like.
Will this course become available for other grade levels?
Yes. We intend to write this curriculum to accommodate all levels of education. Eventually, we will have Physics For Makers courses available for all of the following academic levels:
-
- Early Elementary | Grades K-2
- Late Elementary | Grades 4-5
- Middle School | Grades 6-8
- High School | Grades 9-12 (Not AP Level)
- AP Physics | Grades 11-Early College
After the Physics For Makers | Grades 9-12 course launches, which academic level will become available next?
Our next project is to write and test this course for Middle School | Grades 6-8, which will be scheduled to launch in time for the 2027-2028 school year.
